What if migraine is an exacerbation of the nervous system caused by different mechanical restrictions such as, cumulated muscular tensions, atrophies and inflammations in the shoulders-neck-head-and-face area?
All of which building a severe congestion of blood flow around the skull, thus depriving
the brain of its regular feeding of nutrients and oxygen.
In common language: what if tensed muscles were creating the "crush of the head sensation"we get during migraine crisis?
In fact, muscles, that are potential mechanical forces, when keeping a steady contraction, build tensions.
Moreover, when contracting for too long or doing too many repetitive movements with not enough rest,
fatigue inflammatory mechanism occurs.
Here is the logic behind:
76 muscles around the face, head and neck area.
One of the major need of the muscles is rest. When tired, muscles need short or long resting periods. When not getting enough resting time, they need more energy to keep going. Where does come from more energy for the muscles? Physiology: nutrients an oxygen delivered by the blood. Moreover, when contracting, muscular fibres stay tight together.
In such situation, blood gets imprisoned within and around muscular cells; stagnation of fluids. Fatigue creates even more congestion; as consequence, the tissue swallows. Swallowing makes the inner gradient of pressure (outward) grow in a balloon like process. Then, muscular envelops (thin translucid skin) get stretched out. Micro tears and irritations of that thin layer appear as pain. If lasting long enough, nerves, that are living tissues, get irritated as well; bringing more pain.
Multiple that phenomenon to many small muscles around the head and and face, and a Giant Clamp Sensation;
skull bones joints are squeezed. Brain feels squeezed and overexcited.
The endocrinian system shoots hormones to defend against the aggression.
Migraines symptoms arise. Nauseas is the consequence at the end of the chain reaction.
Variables exist to each person: nobody has the same exact emotions;
no one builds tensions the same way, to the same spots, to the same intensity.
Combination of tensions, irritations, inflammations and level of congestion vary.
Medication treatment results vary.
Touch and bodywork to rescue:
Touch is always the first thing that comes to mind when a trauma occurs.
It has been used by caveman as the first move to fix, to comfort, to heal. Along with herbs, plants and clay.
Why would touch help? Cause it brings comfort;, relief, human care, human connection and warmth.
Even better: imagine that the touching hand feel what is going on under the the skin;
knows HOW TO: where and how to do pressure points, massages, drainages and help to do assisted stretchings.
Pain has a strong mechanical aspect to its cause; inflammation, stagnation of fluids flow,
and lack of range of motion (mobility). To mechanical issues. its mechanical solution.
Touch is a mechanical action that could be transformed into a mechanical care.
1st good reason: drainage; helps blood to flow, in and out; regeneration capacity.
2nd) it's the best and quickest way to undo a tension.
3rd) Touch calms down the over excited nervous system.
The power of mechanic.
Pain always has a mechanical matter.
All things going on in the human body has a mechanical aspect.
Chewing, swallowing, digesting, walking, standing, swimming, climbing, breathing, coughing, sneezing, snoring,
running, playing sports, sleep apnea-ing, eyes movements, eyes lids open or close, hearing, etc.
So, keeping track of things we do; the positioning you take during that activity, the intensity (low, moderate, high), their frequency, their duration, the repetitions, etc,. brings information about the level of muscular fatigue, tensions, inflammation we create on a daily base. Thus, we can see the direct correlations between chores/actions and the fluctuation of your migraines; fluctuation of other physical discomforts like: -
Tensed shoulders, stiff neck, tight jaw, tired back, inflamed shoulder blades, elbow soreness,
achy, back, tensed face muscles, shrugging, etc...
Pain explained by science:
- Pain is a disturbance of the Nervous System. Previous the apparition of science, NS was able to manage its own development; and to help human specie to evolve up to where we are now, by luck.
- It is suggested that PAIN IS IN YOUR BRAIN.
- Just like allergies are your immune system doing too much, never overwhelmed by too much informations.
Imagine the non-sense; An anatomic computer evolved for 100s of 1000s of years in an even more
complex humanoid body (and controls it) to conclude on itself that it is incompetent.
Strange: Science can state that brain makes mistakes, but can't tell what are the root causes of these diseases :
Chrone's disease, Alzheimer, Meniere's disease, polyneuritis, diffuse skeletal hyperostosis, pulmonary fibrosis, scoliosis, and same for Pain and Migraines, etc. (there is an infinite list of these unexplained diseases.
COMMON SENSE: what is it? It is you, thinking on your own, based upon
your rich experience of life and the common reality you have with other human beings.
The type knowledge where no one needs Laboratory Research to substitute
your capacity of thinking. I name it :
Universal Knowledge.
Here is an example: "THE BANANA TEST"
You hold one of your arms to the front, the elbow lightly bent.
That hand holds a banana at ther height of the shoulder. Your hand is relax.
Then, tell me how long is it going to take before a discomfort appears in the shoulder of the arm holding the banana?
We all know it takes only a few minutes.
Let's say it takes only 3 minutes average for most of peoples.
Then, if my job is to hold a banana , what is the best strategy I could use to last for a long time in my career?
ANSWER: 3 minutes up, one minute down, for resting. 3 minutes up, 1 down, and so on.
RESTING? Yes, cause, the initial discomfort I feel after keeping my arm up for a few minutes, is MUSCULAR FATIGUE.
So, what is the best and easiest response to fatigue? REST.
Then, if I rest it for a minute, I can hold for 3 more minutes again.
And the cycle can go on and on like that to help me prevent pain and be a Banana Holder for a long time..
IF NOT using that strategy; and holding for 7-8 minutes at the time,
what will occur? Each time, I will feel more discomfort at the end of the holding period? If not pain. Right?
If I do that days after days, months after months, what will occur?
Do we agree that CHRONIC PAIN WILL APPEAR after a few months?
Of course, cause repeating the non-sense of not listening to the simple message of discomfort that ask me to bring the arm down after a few minutes, will increase the pitch of sensation up to a pain signal.
What does that little experiment tell us?
NO MUSCLE CAN HOLD A STEADY CONTRACTION without getting tired;
Pain progressively appears if no resting time strategy is undertaken. Right?
THAT is the type of Common Sense I want to share with you on this site.
I do not teach. I AM JUST HERE TO REMIND YOU
of all the things you already know deep inside.
Enjoy the walk !
